This was the biggest goal race of my autumn after realising I wasnt at oringen I wasnt going to be in good shape for the early autumn season.

But it wasnt the race I was hoping for ....

First thoughts -
While running it felt OK in the first half, took some safe routes choices (no2 and no3) and some controls where I ended up not where I expected but realised and avoided too muck time loss. But thought it was going alright and got with a big ish group... Then had a mental fail and I missed no8, stressed and missed no9 badly!

After analysing -
No1 - I must have set my compass wrong becuase I used my compass and ran stright to the wrong place, the plan was basically run all the way to the powerline and hill so when I knew it was going wrong I just pushed on because I knew I could relocate easier it I keep going.
No2 - looked tricky and risky so went round to be safe but winsplits shows it as a 30s miss which suprises me!?
Then ran pretty well for the next few controls (bar a silly thought that I didnt need to change my house to no4!)
No7 - I lost contact and concentration I decided to change plan and be safe
No8 - I orienteered out to the main path but after there I just followed two others before realising "fuck Josh you havent looked at your map or compass for ages ... whats going on" and it was quite bushy in there so got confused before I saw the ditch and followed it. At the control I paused told myself to calm down and it wasnt too big. ( but I didnt believe that)
No9 - Didnt plan the leg well enough and missed that there was two paths on the ground, when I got on the first path I thought "its pretty much the right direction" but something told me something was wrong and when I got to the junction I knew I was wrong! that cost me 1min! Fuck, fuck, fuck! then nearer the control I stopped too early when I saw the first spur and the other gaffles +45s

Really disappointed with this ending to race! Some things to work on!

Finnish Relay League Final - Turku

Ran 2nd leg after Anssi.
Anssi ran well on well on first leg, at the half way point I heard he was 18s off the lead, a little bit higher than expected so set up a few butterflies (that I quickly quietened). Anssi stuck to the pre race plan and didnt take any risks and come back 2min30 down rather than trying to stay with the front group.

I started pretty aggressively, orienteered well and managed to almost get on the back of the group that started 20-30s ahead of me. But after I got to them I wasnt great though the next couple of controls 5-6-7 and they got another gap. No5 I thought I broke my magnifier on a tree, so the problem was concentrating there +20s.
Calmed down and ran well to the spectator and got into a group of 5 or 6 and almost ran to the wrong gaffle at no15 but realised, just not sure quite was was wrong (not a mistake really only cost 15s).

Really fun race, a lot better terrain than I first thought looking at the old map. Pushed really hard and was good training for 25manna!

OKS Middle Training

I waited so it it would be dark but didnt really need a lamp for the first 15mins or so then it was night orienteering

Missed no1 a little by going to the wrong crag, a little confused going to no6 because I didnt leave with good direction then tried to make it fit. And the last control was a strange boulder with no control so took a bit of time before accepting it was wrong and not me.
Apart from these small things Im pretty happy!

SM Relay
Lidingö 3rd team last leg (same as last year) ran as Robert Larsson

Wasnt sure I would get to run until half way into first leg so I wanst going into this overly seriously, just thought it would be a really cool training session. Got the map in a little group and a few teams went out a little ahead, so was excited it would be more fun than expected.

A little unsure of the best route to no1 and thought the road to the right my be too far and and only half looked at the wider left route before dismissing it. My route was ok (right probably faster) and didnt execute it great in the first half.

Orienteered pretty well though the next section, seeing a few people so getting a nice "relay" feel.

No10 dicided to take the road probably not the best option and doubted it in the race, then another bad route choice to no21 where I deicided not to take the road that cost over 1min.

All in all pretty good orienteering but struggled to find the best routes! Lots of fun though

SM Middle Final D

Felt tired physically from the beginning but the orienteering was better than yesterday.

1 small error to no5 where I hadnt planned the leg properly and rushed out of the control, started to go over the hill before realising it was not best so decided to contour and drop down to the left but had already climbed more than I though so should have then gone over from where I was.

but apart from that I was flowing and controls where I wanted them to be! felt good!

SM Middle Qualification

Just felt nothing was going like I wanted for the first 8 controls, always feeling Im not quite where I wanted to be but no big mistakes.
Started to get everything back together on way to no9 then better to the finish.

Nothing really wrong just didnt flow as I expected.

OKS Club training
Long legs and good to have a good longer course.
I felt better than earlier

Nice to run with "Tompa the General" for the first controls before he needed to turn back. He ran well and got a head on some other route to no4.
Then me and Jesper carried on until he missed a control near the end

DM Middle Distance (Stockholm Champs)

Had a good race started pretty aggressively then settled down in the more technical terrain but able to push hard throughout the course. No mistakes today

Really surprised to be so far down in the results, guess I'm just not ready yet but still 6 weeks to the main goal of the autumn so hopefully I will see improvements for the next month or so!

But the goal of the day was to perform technically well and I did ... so when I got over the shock of the results and think more clearly I started to feel happy with myself !

DM long distance (Stockholm Champs)

Not good in the beginning.
I lost 70s at no1 because I wasnt 100% sure where I entered the circle and the ground was a lot more detailed and bigger/steeped than I imagened (thinking it was 2x small knolls upto 1m on a saddle/ridge but in reality everything was 2m tall and hard to see far).
Then I lost 1min45s on no2 thought I ran too far and was in the reenterant behind the control before relocating and getting into the control just a head of the man who started 3min after me (classic older bloke thats still pretty good! Fy Fan Söders!!)

Then the next few controls I concentrated on calming down

After that we pretty much ran near each other, taking different routes then getting caught up again then running a few controls then Id do something different then get to the controls just a head. I got the feeling I was orienteering better but he was faster. This defiantly kept our speed high and was good for us both.
On the path to no11 I tried a few tactics so he'd leave me (and hopefully miss) but it was easy in the end and I faded physically!

OKS tech training
Flaten control pick

Mostly pretty good, some small errors (mainly to do with direction) not sure if the root of this was compass or not planning and looking up?

Concentration wasnt good either, that was due to a barny with Louise just before the training and I couldnt stop thinking about it (all sorted now though!), it was nice terrain and fun course but left a sour taste because of this

I had to take the car to Vallentuna to be fix so while it was beening fixed I went orienteering....

I took a screen shot of the map near by and thought Id run the course map memory (because I didnt want to run carrying my phone incase I fell and smashed it). I also decided not to bring a compass because it would be weird to use it on my phone, that was not a good idea because it was pretty vague terrain
This made for a really tough technical training!! I got lost quite a lot but it was a lot of fun and made me focus on lifting my head up.

Started just off the map near no8 then followed the course around, didnt really understand how tricky this would be to no9 and didnt plan to use enough features and ended up making a massive U turn haha, needed to get the map out to check here.

then pretty good for the next few controls and really started to feel it was going well all the way round to no5 but no6 was really tricky and had to get my map out to check here too (also stoped my watch and forgot to restart it). I got really disorientated around no7 so when I found the control and it was really flat and vague I didnt point the map north so started running in 45degrees the wrong direction before coming out at a big open hill!

This training was really fun and I would do it again if I cant get hold of a map but defiantly needs more respect and better in more detailed terrain!!

Långhundra middle



This was a disappointing race by me.

While running I was a bit distracted how long it took to get to the start kite and where it was positioned and then started to miss no1, then left no2 badly, then made a stupid mistake in near the control, then punched another control on the stone just before no3, no4 and 5 was ok but then to no6 I thought the last hill didnt look like I imagined and after that it started to get better.

But this was all just bullshit in my head!! In reality I had no real problem but stressed over the small things at cost less than 10se and didnt flow well because of it ... Ok I lost 20s at no2 near the control because I stayed on the path longer than I meant to and wasnt looking up and using the whole terrain around the circle

But I learnt a lot at this race about myself

Re run Flaten Middle from 2013

Really nice and good fun.
Took it easy but still be my time from the race!! Great confirmation that I am better now after 5 year getting used to Stockholm terrain haha

Oringen day 5 -- chasing start

went out 83 came back 72

Really fun!
Really clam before the race didnt look at the start list was just going to enjoy the course and maybe see some people, pretty low confidence around my racing ability at the mo so wasnt going to do anything special. 15sec up to the lad in front and then quite a few people just a head of him (turns out I was the 2nd person on the the offical chase and at 15sec start intervals, that turned out to be quite important info I didnt know at the finish when I didnt try get a big gap to the finish because I thought if I finished ahead I would beat the others and then was behind in the results because of the total time, oops!)

Started off pretty well and got with Jesper Lyselle at no2, I stayed ahead most of the time but was nice to keep me focused and have some company. Soon I started to catch a few more people around no6-9, I got looked at the whole course and realise it wasnt as tough as the previous days and by no14 we was pretty much heading home so on the way to no10 I though I should lift the effort to drop some people so I wouldnt need to sprint at the end. But every time I felt I was getting away I had a problem and the group would get back together. No12 really bushy area and the control boulder was hidden in a spruce tree, no14 I crossed another unmapped ride, but at no16 I was looking at other people and not orienteering myself!
When we came to no17 I was at the back of a group of about 7-8 guys and the front guy went straight and everyone followed and I decided to take a chance and go around and I may beat them, I was feeling tired, straight looked tougher and round looked easy so thought it would be ok. Now I think I should have gone straight anyway. Turned out to be pretty similar and I overtook most of that group but I fannied about a bit in the circle (15-20s) and the leader got away and didnt see him until the finish.
Left this control hard to get a gap before the last control and was able to run pretty chilled to the finish!

Good fun race but not top performance by me in the last 30mins

Oringen day 4

Nicest terrain yet, Loved it despite not a performance Im proud of.
I missed no8 big, lost concentration then tried to catch it and make the map fit the terrain! and 80secs miss next to no12.

I know I have the skills to run clean but noticed that my concentration is not good and I dont realise I lost concentration very quickly ... problem caused by ot enough orienteering. lesson learnt

Oringen day 3 -- middle

Was a little more aggressive and rushing abit too much to feel smooth but still pretty good... apart from no10 where I was going well until the vague area near the control when I realised Id lost concentration then doubted myself.

Today was a real battle at the end, feeling tired and struggling more and more thoughout the course until I totally ran out of energy going to 14. Both these last 2 days have felt like proper classic distance races and have had that feeling of trying to hold yourself together as everything starts to fall a part

also made a big mistake at no5 that cost 2min. I didnt check here I was coming into the vaguer area then match the hills/ crag/ reenterant up wrong! oops

Good technically.
Needed a little more disapline leaving no1 = a bit of fannying around
But only real time loss was no15 where the map was a bit odd, more green in the reenterant than on the map so thought I was too far left so went right +30s

Jukola leg 2 in 2nd team

I had a phone call a couple of weeks ago saying I was first reserve for the 1st team so was little dissapointed at first but after talking to Toni and Petri we decided I should prepare for the first team anyway as its likely someone will get sick or injured ... Turns out the EsSu boys are tougher than most teams and every one was healthy!! (Which Im happy about, of course I wanted to be in the first team but I also want healty mates and it was a good laugh staying in the house with everyone in high spirits and no one moping or someone we all try to avoid!!)

To no1 I looked to go round to the right and down the big path to the marsh but everyone else went straight and there was no lights ahead going off the the right so I decided to go straight too. I felt a little low in confidence in the vague area in the middle of the leg but when I found the path I wanted I was able to relax and smile all the way into the control.

1-5 Pretty standard, caught Rhys up here and decided not to talk to him and let us both focus on our own races (+ I think I saw him starting to make a mistake at no5 just as I caught up to him?? ;-) ).

6 I heard a few codes being shouted and realised this was ungaffled so was probably the area where we have longer than first leg, so I relaxed and tried to save energy and keep an eye on Jere from Lidingö then he didnt do it very well and I realised we was missing early I fixed it. I spoke to Jere before the start and he was stressed and but this control had over taken me 3 times, from now on I will not use him for orienteering again as this is not his day (or night)

7-11 Heard more control swapping in a few different langues, even if I cant speak Finnish it doesnt take a genius to hear a word then "Joo"... another word "Joo" ... another word "Joo" and the pattern continues for me to understand this is ungaffled for a long time!!
Sat in the group about 5th - 10th, heavy compass work and ticking off the features, letting the big groups lamps light up the terrain (looking at the splits now the group was about 30-35 teams with in 1min). Bumped into Lari (EsSu team 1) for the first time swapped codes, told him it was ungaffeled for a while

11-14 This section looked simple so decided to try push on a bit felt I got a way with Lidingö and Kristiansand (who had already overtaken me 4 or 5 times and I knew was a good runner but can be flakey) so when we came towards 14 and the wasnt going my attakpoint I knew to leave them.

15-16 together with Lari, told him not to use the two guys just ahead

17- oh dear really dusty in the open area and I lost concentration and wasnt 100% confident where I was realised this was gaffeled. In our team meeting we discussed a lot about how all runners can lose time, dont take risk and reduec your time losses as much as possible. So I decided to stay on my compass go straight the forested area to the path behind and come back in from the junction. I thought I wouldnt loose much time and the group tail enders should still be in sight. Turns out this is the point Elias Kuukka and everyone realised the next control was the spectator and chased after him at high speed so manged to loose 1min and 30 places + the speed for the final section here. In hindsight maybe this wasnt the best decision or maybe bad luck!?

19 - Getting tired and didnt understand the map, the depression just before the control was smaller than I imaged.

So Im feeling a bit disappointed with my end result even though there is a lot of positives to take from the race.

This was worst Jukola course I ran with only 5 gaffeled controls, not exactly what I dream of when I think of Jukola orienteering

Went to Tyresta to run the course from DM relay last year. I was sick when the race was on but got the map and been meaning to come and run this since.

Baltic Open Champs middle

Feeling tried after yesterdays long distance (to be expected) and I tried to be a little more aggressive in the terrain but it is very demanding terrain and it wasnt as smooth as I would have liked.

start to no2 I was ok but feeling I was close to making mistakes even though I was ok.
No3 I rushed the plan and missed and I didnt see the few things I planned to +45s

4-6 kept it simple and tried started to get it

7- Ran up the wrong reenterant, I tried using my compass but had a brain fart, I was already feeling tired here +55s

8-finish - Pretty OK, started to flow and get the feeling, but every now and a again Id need to stand still and check I every thing was ok and reassure myself. This made it feel scrappy but after this section of the course I feel I learnt more about how to run in this type of terrain shame it was the last controls of the weekend!! Hope to be back in Latvia again soon as it was great races and really well organised events

Fun, played some tactics on Alex and Mattias in the begining to get away then chilled out and enjoyed it! But jumped a barrier to no6 ... Ooops!

British relay champs 2nd leg, a team with Matt and Cherry. We came 3rd and took home a medal!!

After yesterday's disappoint I vee even more motivated to do well today. I chatted to the boys a lot and discussed some tactics and ideas. This was a technical area and we are 3 experiend relay orienteers so we should play to our strengths and take no risks.

A lot of very good reams in the start list. This looked to be the the best start field for a british relay Ive seen. Very exciting to see so many teams in with a proper shoot of a medal.
FVO (clear favourites), EUOC, OD, MDOC, NOC, Aire, INT, EUOC 2 and MAROC

Watching the start was really good, Cherry was near the back. Seeing this and how he was behaving made me realise he was being sensible and was confident in himself (looked different to other mass starts I have seen him in). I wasnt suprised to see him in the lead at the spectator control, but I was a little suprised to see at only Pete Bray (MDOC) a little behind and no one else around at all. This is was exactly what I wanted so felt happy and relaxed.
At the change over Pete had a 45s-1min lead so thought to myself Cherry must have made a mistake in the end I need to be extra careful after the spectator. (turned out Pete gaffle was a lot shorter). Jonny Malley (MDOC) went out with a lead but shouted "oh shit" when he got the map in the lead, I thought he is about to have a "classic Malley" run so dont think about him again.
Then Cherry came back the frount of a small group 20s behind.

I went out hit my gaffles in the first loop, stopping to read the map when needed and staying very relaxed.
I saw Jonny at my no1 (bit it wasnt his control), I saw Nixon (FVO) and Matt Fellbaum (EUOC) and maybe a couple if other. Leaving the first loop Nixon and Matt I could see a head 20s ish and it was like that all the way until I had had too many longer gaffles and they got further ahead so I just caught glimpses of Matt every now and again but Nixon had got a bigger gap.

Basically in my own orienteering I was safe and paused quite alot and didnt take any risks.

Come the the spectator I looked ahead on the map and realised the last loop was very easy orienteering. I head Cheery and Bazzer shouting so gave them a wave (to Nevs annoyance). This was according to mine and Tonis new thinking "if you cant smile your pushing too hard". I heard Cherry shout Matt Fellbaum was 90s ahead but knew cant was true anyhow from there it was just running so I lifted the pace and cuaght Matt and overtook him to finish 2nd place 15secs? ahead of EUOC.

So on last leg Kris for FVO had quite a big gap a head and Matt for us and Sasha for EUOC together and a big gap behind. I knew This was quite a big ask for Matt, Sasha is in good shape and in home terrain. Then Sasha came to the spectator 70s ahead of Matt and no one behind so we got our medals!!!

Dead chuffed to run the the boys!! Definately the best way to go orienteering is a group of motivated friends in the same team doing well in tough competition.

I ran to wake up controls, lots of fun, tough course!!

Really detailed area on a 1:5000 . I ran pretty well most of the time, I missed a bit on no8 and lost a little time with hesitating and messing about and two bad route choices (no15 and to the finish)

Roslagens Lång
Felt like a real classic toward the end when I was in survival mode.

In the begining I was really trying to be smooth not fast but after 30-40mins I was feeling tired and wasnt ahead of myself enough for the rest of the course. Lost 2mins at no10 where I didnt see the control tooked away (not complaining I should have known where I was and where to look).

10mila Nynäshamn leg 6

Really good race!

I had spent a lot of time in the week trying to get my mind ready and prepare for how to run. Last week I was pretty low in confidence (after being sick for a few weeks round easter, then struggled at Swedish league and FinnSpring now going aswel as hoped) and not really the spring I hoped for so far. Toni really helped me a lot this week!!!

23:30 alarm to get up and eat a little and jog then prepare to run around about 3:00-3:30.

I felt we was a little bit behind where we expected to be in the beginning and although no one ran badly. But being behind meant I got to hear that there was big mistakes happening on leg 6 and saw some bits of GPS.

I knew I wanted to orienteer safe and stop if anything felt strange, relaxed physically using the 95% rule and me smile a lot!! I used this last rule more than ever before, smiling to relax myself throughout the course!! Sounds silly but seemed to work.

I made a few extra safe route choices these was after I hesitated or felt I was loosing some time, especially to no5 and 14. I didnt think no3 and 4 was great and small mistakes to 11 and 13 (but no real time lost). Also mid way to 3 I changed my route after not really sure where I was so decided to be safer (I'd rather loose 15-20s changing my plan than loose more on mistakes). But a part from this is was all really good!
(feels a bit strange not having anything to complain about!)

I felt I was catching up some people which lift me up and made me feel happy but didnt know if they was on leg 5 or 6.

It was really nice to finish and really good to see Petri and Henkka was happy with my run because although it felt pretty good, I wasnt pushing too hard until I realise "this seems a really easy control why is it next to a field? Oh shit its the second last control maybe I should get a move on" so to see there big smiles and positive bouncing energy was great!! (Especially from Finns ;-) )

Turn out the live result made me look a lot better than it was, because I only lost 30s to the lead but that is because the leader went out a long way ahead on 2nd and blow it so got over took.
but I did climb some place so there was still reason to smile and be happy!!

Then the other boys carried on and we climbed upto 40th!!

Swedish League Middle Skåne

Feeling physically pretty bad, not recovered well from the long.

Started feeling it was a bit scrappy and with a small miss at no4 and a biggger mistake at no6 where I saw the control but thought it wasnt mine, until I realised it was and had to turn back!

Here is where I got caught up by Anton Forsberg who start 2min behind me. I thought there was a good chance this would happen and expected it to be a faster pace but was actually ok and I was able to orienteer behind him. I fell just before no10 and my house came out the compass so stopped to find it and Anton got a gap so I pushed to catch him and this put me in the red a bit and from there it felt a bit rough. Then I fell again combined with getting tangled with a load of slower runners at control 15 and he got another gap and I didnt have the legs or mind to chase him back again.

The rest went pretty well, I had forgotten my spare compass but it was ok and helped me remember to look further away and use bigger features so was good training!

This was a good experience watching Anton and running without a compass. Lots of lessons to learn!!

Swedish League Long -- Helsingborg (almost Denmark)

Open beech forest quite similar to some south England terrain. I tried to run straight pretty much all the time even though there was path options. Thought the terrain was easy running but looks like I lost time with this tactic. Also for some reason I thought I would run 80-85mins so pushed hard from the start and got really tired towards the end. Made a massive mistake where I only used my compass and set it wrong or knocked it so I ran 20degrees or so wrong and came to the path miles away from where I wanted. oops
not a great day but quite fun

Really annoyed about no6, I was really lazy and didnt look at anything but the compass and getting to the big valley. Even when I knew I was going wrong I didnt check what I was doing, just hoped it would turnout ok in the end.

Vinterserien in Hökarängen
Still not feeling 100% so was taking it pretty easy but caught Louise and ended up trying out orienteer her and not get beaten back to the finish

Mila By Night Final @ Källbrink in a lot of snow

Felt pretty up for this before the race and physically better than I thought I would until coming up to the hour when I started to feel pretty tired.

no1 and 2 was ok a lot of people around so followed the group and kept control of my orienteering but to 3 it started to thin out and I tried to do my own thing a bit more. Everything was pretty good but took a bad route on the long leg and lost contact with the map mid leg so started pushing west knowing I would hit a big feature but lost some confidence at that point until I got to the powerline.

Running the spectator run though I was a the front of group of 6 or 7 and started to feel tired but luckily leaving no12 Rasmus pushed past me and I thought "oh no, this is going to get tough" but when we got to the path he ran 90degrees the wrong direction. I was the only one to notice so ended up doing the last loop pretty much by myself and didnt need to push too hard! Cheers Rasmus!! haha

Famous "N" course
no mistakes, ran pretty much straight as possible until i lost some confidence to no6 so stayed closer to the big ridge and came down the wider nose. Now I have looked at how other people have run and I decided to ignore the unmapped path to no6 but a lot of people seemed to use it?

Really good area and course, loads of detail and I struggled a bit without my magnifier.
Made a few smaller mistakes (upto 25s) and one bigger 80s at 6 where I thought I was higher than I was, didnt have a full plan of the area.

And my spring fell out the back of my compass twice!!

Snättringe Long session planned by Tobi

Fun session and felt pretty good. I usually are not too fussed by multi technique course but enjoyed this one.
Orienteered pretty well and held concentration alright

Mila By Night - Gustavsberg

Went ok, a few smaller mistakes 25-40sec that put a dampener on the race mainly from not being as careful as I should (orienteered to the wrong feature on one control and tried to attack the control from parallel feature at another) but generally ok.
Pretty poor course. With butterflies like this you see who is on your gaffle really easy so I just tried to run up the train and not orienteer on quite a few controls. Better with proper gaffling.
Physically tired in the end and didnt have the mind to fight to hold my position along the path running after no21

Vinterserien @ Fagersjö

Fun course going to lots of little woods that dont get used so was able to keep the orienteering honest.
A couple of smaller problems making decisions, making snap decisions rather than calculating what is best.

OKS Club Training

Nice to do something a little different, but I was hoping for something more technical because I was feeling a bit tired and the goal of the session was to run with people without letting the heart rate get too high.
I was doing ok but heart rate rocketed and any incline even though I was trying to relax.

Technically I was pretty good, but it was pretty easy a part from being in Hökarängen.

Vinterserien Kungens Kurva (same terrain as 25manna 2016)

Im disappointed with this performance
Went ok in the beginning but blow 90s on no6, then struggled with negative thoughts though the rest of the course, every small mistake felt huge and i was thinking "For fuck sake an other mistake" almost every control.

I also felt pretty tired and struggling physically that probably played part on my negativity

there was times that I felt I was flowing pretty well and I felt confident and smooth on the rocky ground.

But the concentration wasnt there and there was routine problems!

Mila by night @ ängsjö

The best mila I have been too! Good forest and proper relay gaffling rather than butterflies.

Started straight into a detailed area where I got my controls well and came out with a good group (the lead or just behind?).
on the long leg to 8 I wasnt concentrating enough and wasnt ahead of myself in the last 3rd of the leg. I ran very close to the control but didnt see it thinking we still had to go further but everyone in the group punched it except me then i saw them running away, i thought "they are running fast to say we should be entering the control. oh dear!" haha +45s.
From there i was pretty much alone.
I did pretty well a part from I think I set my compass badly out of no17 and a bad route to no20.

When I was leaving no 18 there was a light running towards me and i thought "i bet thats Dimi". I last saw him on the way to no8 when he came up behind me and said "Xyn" (dick in russian) and now he is shouting "Fuck, fuck, fuck" hahah. I thought I had enough of a gap to stay out of sight and finish without seeing him again but he is running fast and reeled me in to beat me in the sprint finish but he didnt punch the finish so on the results i beat him by 1s!?

I felt ok but slow and tough up hill. I dont in good shape and that everyone else feels fast! hopfully get this sorted soon

They made me feel very slow (first time over 80kg for a few years haha) but just about held my own because there wasnt really any orienteering problems. Fun training with the others around! Time to knuckle down and get ready for spring!!
